Betsy Cohen, MSW, LCSW is an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist and EMDRIA approved Consultant-in-Training. She has completed the LCSW Supervisor Certificate Training through NASW and is qualified to provide LCSW supervision to LCSWA’s in North Carolina. At her full-time agency job, she works as a therapist supervisor, mentoring a team of clinicians and carrying a caseload of children and families with heavy system involvement. This includes working with youth ages 4-18 and their support systems. Most of her clients have histories of attachment trauma, dissociation, adoption, foster care involvement, continuous trauma, pre-verbal trauma, and developmental trauma. She recognizes that these experiences have unique impacts on all of her clients and strives to individualize EMDR to best fit each client’s symptoms. She is also trained in DBT, CCPT, The 7 Challenges, trauma-informed parenting practices, and MI. She incorporates her therapy dog, Norm, in attachment work through AAT and AAPT.
